The
churches of the National Capital Region, in unity with 500 million Christians
around the world, are gathering together on Pentecost Sunday to ask God to bless
their nation and the nations of the earth. Ministers and followers of
Jesus from many Ottawa area churches will be
gathering for an evening of worship, prayer, repentance and declaration. We are
asking God to bless our nation according to Hab. 2:14…
“that
the earth (including Canada) will be filled with the
knowledge of the glory of the Lord.”
Please
come ready to pray and bring a small Canadian flag or something distinctively
Canadian with you for the evening. If you were born outside of
Canada, then bring a small flag from
your country of origin. You may even want to dress in your native clothing. The
more diverse we are the more delightful our expression of unity will be as we
pray and honour one another.
The
Ottawa Global Day of Prayer
team is committed to seeing one church in the city expressing itself in many
congregations. Our unity in Christ will be seen and heard in prayer as we call
upon His Name together. We are celebrating the diversity and ethnicity of His
church and coming together in the Name of Jesus to pray for Canada and God’s
will to be done in us, our churches, our city and our
land.
